NAHANT — The Nahant Community Preservation Committee reviewed $476,301 in new grant requests and ruled two unrelated applications ineligible. Chair Lynne Spencer said a Sailing Program bid and a Summer Solstice Celebration proposal from Sheena Kowalski both failed Community Preservation Coalition eligibility review. Six pending applications include a $75,000 Housing Authority roof request after a leak damaged a bedroom, a $40,000 Town Hall ramp add-on, and a disputed $45,000 Little League lighting request on top of a prior $75,000 grant.
Member Austin Antrim caught that a bond payoff figure was listed as $313,000 instead of the correct $114,675. Town Manager Allison Nieto said, "I'm 100% certain that this has not been paid," regarding a separately discovered unpaid $30,000 invoice. The committee scheduled applicant hearings for February 9 and February 23.
