NAHANT — The Nahant Zoning Board of Appeals continued a contested Wilson Road roof and deck addition after two members signaled they would vote no. Chair Jocelyn Campbell said the board needed four of five votes to approve the project and lacked them as members Gerardo Raffaele and David Walsh raised concerns about roof runoff onto neighboring yards. Applicants Steve and Helen Fawcett must return April 28 with a documented drainage plan and consider cutting the roof on one side of the proposed deck.
Neighbor Kathy Ryan of 154 Wilson Road told the board "I just don't want to see expansion," citing decades of incremental additions to the house. The board also unanimously continued two unrelated matters, 10 Fallon Way and 75 Bass Point Road, to May 27.
