NAHANT -- February 3, 2026, Nahant School Committee approves $641,457 bill roll and flags student drop-off safety hazard. The three-member committee, meeting February 3 with quorum, unanimously approved a bill roll totaling $641,457.98, described as driven primarily by special education tuition costs. A committee member also relayed parent concerns about dangerous conditions on the Flash Road side of Johnson School, where high snow banks left by a recent storm were forcing children to walk forward through the drop-off lane in front of vehicles whose mirrors could not provide drivers a clear view of approaching students. The member had already emailed the school's maintenance team and a town official identified as Zach Taylor, the new deputy, before the meeting convened. A parent had offered to help clear snow personally but was told private volunteers could not use school equipment on the grounds.
