Nahant School Committee Extends Superintendent Levo's Contract Through 2029
NAHANT — April 14, 2026 — Nahant School Committee extends Superintendent Robert Levo's contract through June 2029 and raises his salary to $75,000. The committee voted unanimously at its April 14 meeting to amend Levo's existing employment agreement — previously set to expire June 30, 2028 — adding one year and setting a new base salary, following an annual evaluation that gave him an overall rating of Exemplary. Members praised Levo's negotiation of the Nahant Teachers Association union contract, his introduction of a greenhouse program at the Johnson School, and his acquisition of a school van that now serves both students and the Nahant Council on Aging. The committee also approved $666,613.25 in bills, including $19,000 to Commonwealth Consulting Agency for contracted special-education services and $1,500 for a special-education staff training workshop. "It takes a great leader to hire great leaders," one member said directly to Levo, crediting his recruitment of the school's current principal as a defining act of his tenure.
